Primula Tea Pot
$18-$25(I purchased mine off of fab.com, and with credits only paid $5.15!)
I received my new tea pot the other day. I first got interested in tea because Kevin Rose(founder of digg)kept on talking about it in his podcasts/webshows.
It’s lighter weight than I thought, but does show off the tea flower quite well. Can’t wait to get some quality teas! It came with a free tea flower, but it’s a really mellow green tea. I’m more of a fan of darker, bolder teas.

Fish Eye Moscato
Australia $7
VALUE!!!
Maybe Moscato is always tasty, but don’t hold it against the wine. It can’t help it. This one is extremely delicious. Full of tropical fruit on the nose and the mouth. Bought this on a whim, and it will be purchased again! BUY!!!

Cupcake Vineyards Red Velvet & Angel Food
$9-$14 California
I was really intrigued by the idea behind these wines. I have had a few Cupcake wines, and they didn’t disappoint for the value.
Red Velvet
On the pour it’s quite dark, and gets gives off a rich aroma. When putting the nose to the glass it’s quite a different story. A mix of berries and barnyard. Sometimes that can lead to good things, but not with red velvet cake. The taste and mouth feel were quite unsettling. It’s just not tasty. There is some hint of cake, but that is masked by a flat cola flavor. In the end it’s a big PASS!
Angel Food
The nose is full of granny smith apples, and looks very Chardonnay like which makes sense since it is the base of the wine. When it comes to the flavor it’s quite a mixed bag. Apples and vanilla mixed with a taste very angel food cake-like that has some extra metallic flavor added to it. That extra metal really turns the wine from a lot of fun into something I wish I didn’t spend ten bucks on. Depending on your pallet this could be a buy, but for me it’s a pass.

Mirassou Pinot Noir
$7-$10
After success with my first Pinot Noir I was quickly disappointed by the second. The Mirassou PN wasn’t really disappointing, but after the Cupcake Pinot I guess I was expecting a lot more than I should have.
This wine doesn’t bring much to the nose or palate. It’s just red wine. It’s just there. Not horrible, but not interesting.
It’s a pass.

Winking Owl Cabernet
$3-$4
ALDI
This is a store brand wine from ALDI, and it was a shocker.
I haven’t found too many Cabs that have excited me; especially for three bucks! This wine isn’t going to blow anyone away, but the it’s easily drinkable. The nose is jammy, and enticing. I easily picked up plenty of dark red fruits, and black berries on the palate. The best thing about this cheap Cab is that it doesn’t have any of the stereotypical greenness found in many inexpensive Cabernet’s.
My only warning is that it is a large factory wine, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some inconsistencies throughout the year. With that being said, the stuff is $3, so you won’t be out too much cash if it turns out to be a bad bottle.

My last 3 posts have all been sammiches!

Sorry for the lack of posting, just been busy this summer.

I would like to know your take on these great sandwiches. Which one do you guys prefer between Subway, homemade #1, and homemade #2?

secretsmiles:

I made a sandwich that actually looks (and tastes) pretty tasty! A little mayo, tomato, lettuce, chicken, three pepper Colby-jack cheese, and bacon is all it takes! I have to say that I am little proud of myself. My sandwiches usually come out kinda strange :/

Oh shit! This sandwich looks amazing! I would die to have a lady around to make me sammiches like this every day! Haha, of course I’m just kidding around, but this sandwich looks fucking delicious!

christinegraves:

Look at that motherfuckin sammich. Turkey breast, mayo, mustard, italian seasonings, lettuce and cheese on white wheat bread sliced diagonally. So, why teh fuck am I single? lol I know I’m opening the flood gates for sexist remarks, but idgaf. I’m amazing in the kitchen.

This sandwich looks good! Glad to see girls still know how to make sammiches. I’m kidding of course, but it does look tasty right now.

Subway $5+$1 for avocado + tax= About $7
I know there isn’t anything special about Subway, but this sandwich was pretty good. I got an Italian BMT on the 9-Grain Honey Wheat Bread with pepper jack, sweet onion sauce, and every veggie. It was worth the extra buck for the avocado. For the amount they put on the sandwich it really isn’t a bad deal.
You get the most sammich for you buck at Subway, but Jimmy John’s has better meat and bread when it comes down to quality. It is nice to have the wide variety Subway offers.
